The Sabbath

The Sabbath is a day of physical rest and of spiritual rejuvenation. It is not a day set aside for our own personal pleasures. It is a day for the gathering together of God's people where available. And as shown in scripture, prior to the destruction of the temple and the elimination of the earthly priesthood, it was a time of gathering in joy and excitement, not one of drudgery and subdued gatherings which occurred when men took over the reigns using their own thinking.

The Sabbath was sanctified, making it a HOLY DAY in (Gen 2:2-3)

"And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."
