Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
1 Timothy 6: 5-11 "Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and
destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such
withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is
certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith
content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a
snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in
destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which
while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced
themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow
after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness."
1 Timothy 6:17-18 " Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy."
James 1: 9-11 "Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is
exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the
flower of the grass he shall pass away. For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but
it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace
of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away
in his ways."
James 5:1-3 " Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days."
Mark 10: 23-25 "And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his
disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the
kingdom of God! And the disciples were astonished at his words. But
Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it
for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a
needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
