Foreigners / Illegal Aliens
An illegal alien is a person living in a country other than the one of their
birth, and is living there without having obtained legal permission from the
government. And no where does the Bible address this issue. What it does address
though, is how aliens ( known as sojourners and strangers) that are given
permission from the government are to act in their new society. God instructed
aliens to follow all the laws of the new land, or they where not allowed to
stay. They were also subject to the same penalties for disobedience as those
born in the land.
Exodus 12:49 "One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you."
Exodus 22:21 "Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt."
Leviticus 18:26 " Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:"
Leviticus 24:22 " Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God."
Numbers 9:14 " And if a stranger shall sojourn among you, and will keep the passover unto the LORD; according to the ordinance of the passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land."
Numbers 15:15-16 " One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the LORD. One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you."
Numbers 15:29 " Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them."
Foreigners are not to be mistreated.
Exodus 23:9 "Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt."
Leviticus 19:33-35 "And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure."
They are to be loved as human beings.
Deuteronomy 10:19 "Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt."
Notice that a curse that will come upon all Nations that disobey the word of
God using alien/foreigners :
Deuteronomy 28:43 "The strangerH1616 that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low."
Ezekiel 7:23-24 "Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence. Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathenH1471, and they shall possess your houses:"
Matthew 24:7-8 "For nationG1484 shall riseG1453 against nationG1484, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."
But notice if you use Strong's to translate these verses you can get a
clearer picture of what's happening today:
G1484; ethnos = a race (as of the same habit), that is, a tribe; specifically a foreign (non-Jewish) one (usually by implication pagan): - Gentile, heathen, nation, people.
G1453 egeirō = to waken (transitively or intransitively), that is, rouse (literally from sleep, from sitting or lying, from disease, from death; or figuratively from obscurity, inactivity, ruins, nonexistence): - awake, lift (up), raise (again, up), rear up, (a-) rise (again, up), stand, take up.
H1616 gêr gêyr = properly a guest; by implication a foreigner: - alien, sojourner, stranger.
H1471 gôy gôy = (in the sense of massing); a foreign nation; hence a Gentile; also (figuratively) a troop of animals, or a flight of locusts: - Gentile, heathen, nation,
people
Deuteronomy 28:43 "The foreigner that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low."
Ezekiel 7:23-24 "Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence. Wherefore I will bring the worst of the a foreign nation, and they shall possess your houses:"
Matthew 24:7-8 "For a race shall rear up against a race, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."
Notice also how the Orthodox Jewish Bible translates it:
Matthew 24:7 "For there will be an intifada of ethnic group against ethnic group, …"
Aliens/Foreigners will be used to destroy nations from within.
The bottom line here is, that if they are NOT following the laws of the land,
or are here illegally, they should not be allowed to stay.
