The Christian Family and Home Schooling

Train a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not turn from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

We seek to encourage all current and future home schoolers in their home schooling efforts and in strengthening them in their Christian walks.
We advocate home schooling, especially for those who have a definite plan and purpose for their children, and who would prefer to keep their children apart from the educational and social mayhem, and the deliberate attempts by the schools to "dumb down" our children and teach them evolutionary concepts, rationalism, situation ethics, "alternative lifestyles," etc.

"The new home schooler's aren't hermits," the article entitled Home Sweet School begins. "They are diverse parents who are getting results and putting the heat on public education." If you missed it, the cover story in TIME magazine was about the home education movement in America.
The average home schooler's SAT score is 1100, 80 points higher than the average for the general population. Home schooler's are having no trouble getting into college, including Ivy League schools.
TIME produced an in-depth feature article that did a fairly good job of showing the success of home education in America.
The public school system has become the domain of the Democratic left and it has fundamentally changed the American culture because it successfully indoctrinated five or six generations of U.S. children.

Our children insane?

In his 1972 keynote address to the Association for Childhood Education International, Chester Pierce, a Professor of Educational Psychiatry at Harvard University, said to a gathering of teachers, "Every child in America entering school at the age of five is insane because he comes to school with certain allegiances toward our Founding Fathers, toward his parents, toward our elected officials, toward a belief in a supernatural being, and toward the sovereignty of this nation as a separate entity. It?s up to you teachers to make all of these sick children well by creating the international child of the future."

How can the United Nations win over the American people and convince us to trade in our constitutional and national sovereignty for a one-world government run by a distant elite? Simple. That's what the American educational system is set up to do.

House of Horrors?

Is Your Child's School Really A House of Horrors?

Parents looking to the beginning of the new school year may fear a repeat of the violence that has occurred, but the real House of Horrors, says the American Policy Center is just as frightening. Here's what the Center says awaits returning students:

1. Social promotion into grades where they are unable to compete, having failed to acquire the basic skills in the previous year.

2. Math courses in which the memorization of multiplication tables is neither required, nor encouraged. Teachers who believe math, an absolute science, can be absorbed by osmosis.

3. Being in classrooms where the teacher is now a "facilitator" and students are expected to learn from each other.

4. School books of every description in which children are taught to worship the earth or "Gaia", the earth as God.

5. Deceptive permission slips sent home where "physical examinations" do not mention the inclusion of genital examinations for young girls. School health centers that provide information about sexual behavior contrary to the beliefs or wishes of parents.

6. Geography courses where students are asked to make a "Me Map" that has nothing to do with the nations of the world, locations of oceans, rivers or mountain ranges, but rather becomes a device to shape the student's social values.

7. English classes where students are posed ethical questions including those requiring decisions as to who should die and who should live.

8. Science courses that falsely teach that the earth is running out of energy resources, that forests are disappearing, that the provision of abundant food crops is bad because of the use of agricultural chemicals that have been safely applied for decades, and barely hidden advertisements for environmental groups such as the Sierra Club.

9. The widespread administration of mind altering drugs to students, often without the parent's permission or knowledge, for alleged disorders such as Attention Deficit Disorder.

10. The intrusion of often poorly trained "social workers" conducting unsolicited home visits with the power to remove a child they deem to be "at risk."
